GBI Presence Contributes to Successful IMTS Trade Show at Chicago's McCormack Place
September 7-15, 2004
"Spend eighty percent of your time focusing on the opportunities of tomorrow rather than the problems of yesterday."
- Brian Tracy
GBI Cincinnati’s presence was evident at the 2004 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), working side-by-side with Cincinnati Lamb and Landis, both divisions of California-based Unova, Inc. to contribute to a successful show. Acting as Master Distributor for Cincinnati Lamb product lines manufactured in the United Kingdom, GBI took advantage of prime tradeshow real estate to build rapport with numerous consumer prospects and educate them on the wealth of benefits of the products represented by GBI.
Held over the course of eight days, IMTS is one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world, showcasing thousands of exhibitors and welcoming over eighty-six thousand visitors from over forty countries. The prime means of introducing the latest in manufacturing technology and networking with business colleagues, the success of IMTS leads industry experts to believe that the days of sliding sales and gloomy forecasts are quickly becoming a part of the past. Most IMTS attendees were looking for specific equipment they require to meet their needs and help them to succeed in a competitive global market. Steady traffic and crowded booths held optimism that companies are ready and able to do more than just “kick the tires”.
On the show floor, buyer interest was driven by pent-up demand and the need for modern, highly productive equipment. During the show, it was reported that U.S. machine tool consumption was up 39.3 percent in the first seven months of 2004 compared with the previous year. A common report from exhibitors, GBI included, was that they had established ambitious goals for their IMTS participation and were not disappointed, often just a few days into the show. IMTS proved to be an effective launching ground for the prosperous months to come for GBI and in manufacturing.
