New VMCs Offer
Ultimate Performance Technology
 |
| The digital vector spindle drive provides 25 Hp (MTDR) with a range up to 8,000 rpm. |
We are proud to introduce the most reliable, accurate and user-friendly range of vertical machining centers in todays marketplace. More power, improved spindle acceleration, enhanced rapid traverse and acc/dec performance, faster metal-to-metal tool change times and faster axis drives are just a few reasons the new Cincinnati Machine Arrow Series 2 VMCs provide Ultimate Performance technology to meet your unique machining needs.
The new Arrow Series 2 Vertical Machining Centers are equipped with an all-new performance package. A state-of-the-art Profibus system, along with numerous performance upgrades is standard on the Arrow Series 2 VMC product line. The new electric system incorporating the Profibus I/O interface technology reduces wire terminations, improves safety features and simplifies maintenance. Tried and tested, the components are installed for more than 3 million users worldwide.
 |
| Along with an all-new performance package, the Arrow Series 2 VMCs are redesigned with many ergonomic enhancements. |
Spindle power is increased up to 60 percent on the Arrow Series 2 VMC machines. Spindle acceleration is improved by up to 40 percent, allowing the 40 series spindle to reach 8,000 rpm in just 1.8 seconds. The drive system provides constant torque regardless of load.
The new axis drives and motors provide exceptional standards of surface finish and are quiet in operation. Coupled with the use of linear scale feedback (standard on X- and Y-axes), consistently high accuracy is maintained.
Process-matching feedrates of 590 ipm (15,000 mm/min) are combined with rapid traverse rates up to 1416 ipm (36 m/mm). The acc/dec rates are increased up to 70 percent. The large coupling and shaft size provide better balance, which transmits more torque than the previous motors.

| Enhanced operator features include high intensity lighting and end panel windows for increased visibility. |
Enhanced operator convenience features include high-intensity lighting and end panel windows for increased visibility within the machining area. In addition, an integral workstation tray is incorporated into the control station.
Maintenance-free linear guideways, with sliding friction as low as 1/50 of conventional guideways, reduce stick-slip for accurate positioning and high-definition milling at high feed rates. "Lubed for life" guideways mounted to the wide-base stance are virtually wear-free and provide superior rigidity and dynamic stiffness for high weight carrying capacity. This rigid base construction system provides total support of large worktables in extreme travels or demanding machining conditions.
The Acramatic 2100 from Siemens operates on a Windows NT® platform, providing a user-friendly system with the most comprehensive specification available today. A touch screen control and hand held pendant place the control functions at the operators fingertips, reducing setup time.
 |
| Along with a powerful Siemens A2100 control, an integral workstation tray and convenient hand-held pendant are incorporated. |
The standard third-party interface allows the use of proprietary software, such as CAD/CAM systems and SPC programs, to run on the control. This open-architecture system, which is based on a true PC platform, offers unrivaled communication capabilities.
The Arrow Series 2 VMCs take machine performance to the next level and offer the most affordable technology for the life of your machine tool investment. For additional information on the Series 2 product line, please visit our web site or contact your local authorized distributor. |
