Large, Slant-Bed Hawk TC-300 Turning Center, Delivering Power And Bigger Capacity, Can Be Seen At IMTS 2002

The digital-featured Hawk TC-300 CNC Turning Center — with large thru-hole bar stock capacity of 3.5" (90 mm), maximum turning swing of 26.8" (680 mm), turning diameter of 16.6" (421 mm), and turning length of 39.9" (1016 mm) — is ideal for a variety of heavy turning applications. It will be on display in operation at Cincinnati Machine’s IMTS 2002 Booth #8101.

The Hawk is equipped with a hydraulically actuated 12" (300 mm) chuck powered by a single-range, gearless spindle drive. The standard high torque, 3000 rpm spindle drive motor delivers a full 60 MTDR Hp (45 kW).

Many competitively priced turning machines can sustain peak performance only for extremely short periods; however, the Hawk’s duty rated spindle permits sustained productivity in hard metals and with high cutting loads. In addition, a special toothed-belt drive virtually eliminates side loads on the spindle motor and bearings.

The Hawk TC-300 is designed with a true 45 °slant-bed made of cast iron. Together these features deliver superior rigidity, vibration damping and chip removal efficiency.

Standard maintenance-free linear guideways enable faster processing by reducing sliding friction to 1/50 th that of conventional guideways. Advanced digital scale feedback—standard on the X-axis—delivers day-to-day part consistency with repeatability of ±0.00004" ( ±1 micron).

The GE Fanuc 21i-TA CNC is standard. This control is perfect for shops already running on the Fanuc platform since it is compatible with prior and current generation Fanuc technologies. It features rapid and user-friendly machine-to-machine and machine-to-PC communications.
